Julie Kedzie began her Martial Arts training in Tae-Kwon-Do at the young age of four. After 18 years of competition, and many local and state titles, Kedzie earned a 3rd degree Black Belt under Steve C. Scott of Monroe County Martial Arts. Under the instruction of Mr. Scott, Kedzie studied a variety of Martial Arts including Modern Arnis, Sayoc Kali, Inosanto Blend Jeet-Kune-Do, Muay Thai Kickboxing and Erik Paulson‘s Combat Submission Wrestling. However, during her study of Muay Thai and Combat Submission Wrestling Kedzie realized her destiny: Mixed Martial Arts Fighting! To pursue her interests in MMA, Kedzie traveled to California to train with Debi Purcell and two MMA legends - Marco Ruas Erik Paulson.
Kedzie returned to Indiana where she trained at the Indiana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Since Returning to Indiana Julie has collected many titles including the following: 1st place at the Extreme Grappling Open (EGO), World Kickboxing Association National Title, and the first Hook-N-Shoot Women‘s 135lbs World Champion.
After her fight with Gina Carano at EliteXC Destiny, Julie Kedzie decided to move her training to Albuquerque, New Mexico to increase her skills to the next level. She now trains with Greg Jackson’s team, currently one of the best teams in the US. He is responsible for the training and development of top level fighters like Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine, Joey Villasenor, Nathan Marquardt, and Diego Sanchez.
Julie Kedzie has a proven herself as a ferocious competitor through years of competition. As a true Mixed Martial Artist, Kedzie is a dangerous opponent for even the most skilled fighter.
